The Concurrent User Record on Steam Has Been Broken

We all knew that the release of Cyberpunk 2077 was going to exist a large release. I mean the game turned a profit on solar day 1. Withal, it looks that and other titles have helped pause the concurrent player count on Steam once again.

Daniel Ahmad, a Senior Analyst at Niko Partners, posted on Twitter that the summit concurrent user record, which used to be 24.54 1000000 players, has been cleaved. The new tape is a massive 24.78 players.

He also mentioned that this record comes right after Cyberpunk 2077 and Counter Strike: Become passed over 1 1000000 concurrent players.

Steam just set up a new peak concurrent user record of 24.78 1000000, beating the previous record of 24.54 one thousand thousand on April 4.

This comes later Cyberpunk 2077 and Counter Strike: GO surpassed 1m concurrent players each today.

Daniel goes on to mention how the COVID-nineteen pandemic has affected both concurrent users and the behavior of players. Since the lockdowns began sometime around April, Steam has maintained more daily concurrent users than the highest mean solar day always recorded in 2022. Note the graph above. You tin literally pinpoint exactly when everyone had to offset isolation at the end of March and beginning of April. Essentially, people are playing a lot more games at abode every single day.

The video game industry has been one of the few industries to really benefit from the lockdowns. Now that everyone has had to stay inside for months at a time, people haven't had much to do. Those who have been gamers earlier take boughten more than games. Even those who wouldn't usually play games have started to choice them upwards too. The amount of people I know who commonly exercise not play games who accept purchased a Switch and Fauna Crossing is kind of staggering.
